"What Matters": The Democracy Project and Active Citizenship

A healthy democracy depends on the active participation of its citizens. Come learn how you can travel to Scotland and England with the Democracy Project and many other ways to get inovolved in our local, regional, and global communities. Presentations will be made by Dr. Prakash Chenjeri and students who participated in the Democracy Project this summer in Italy and Greece, and get information about the upcoming trip to Edinburgh and London planned for summer 2020. Students, faculty, staff, and the community are all welcome to join the adventure! Honors College Scholar Virginia Fuhrmark will discuss the Alternative Spring Break program and the upcoming trip to Arizona to volunteer for a program that helps survivors of domestic violence transition out of shelters. Come hear about Virginia's "Take the Lead" project and learn how you can participate in this or other Alternative Spring Break trips. Other information will be available from the Outdoor Programs, and both internship and volunteer opportunities available on campus and in our communities. We hope you'll join us and get involved!
