Thursday Music Showcase

Thursday Music Showcase is a music appreciation course that is required for all SOU Music Majors. Also known previously as "Friday Music Showcase" and "Convocation," this weekly event is free and open to the public and livestreamed on the Oregon Center for the Arts YouTube Channel. In person attendance is encouraged (free, and open to the public) Thursdays, from 12:30-1:30pm in the SOU Music Recital Hall.

The current course number is MUS 165 and is called "Concert and Recital Attendance" during the 22-23 academic year. Each Thursday (with a few exceptions) students and faculty peform, or we host special guest artist performances. This is also an opportunity for students in their third year to perform a junior recital, or for undergraduate, masters level students, or faculty to give a preview of their upcoming recitals.
