N:\nWhat does it mean to be in the presence of nature\, to be present in n
ature? This exhibition\, featuring work by three Oregon-based artists\, pr
esents interpretations of nature that arise when wholly immersed in Oregon
’s diverse natural environments. As immigrants\, Claire Burbridge\, Naee
meh Naeemaei\, and Olga Volchkova find both familiarity and the unexpected
in their explorations of Oregon’s landscapes and find new inspirations
and artistic connections in their growing friendship made possible through
an active online discourse initiated with the exhibition project. In addi
tion to their discrete installations\, aspects of their conversation will
punctuate the exhibition\, and there is a possibility of a new collaborati
ve work that will extend and transform their own practices. Organized by J
ill Hartz\, an independent curator and former executive director of the Jo
rdan Schnitzer Museum of Art\, University of Oregon\, Eugene\, The Presenc
e of Nature is being planned in conjunction with AIFF’s April 2022 festi

e work of the three artists noted above\, AIFF artistic director Richard H
erskowitz will curate a program of nature-inspired videos in the Treehaven

urday 10am to 4pm\n\nFree\, and open to the public.\n\nABOUT THE EXHIBITIO
Organized by J
ill Hartz\, an independent curator and former executive director of the Jo
rdan Schnitzer Museum of Art\, University of Oregon\, Eugene\, The Presenc
e of Nature is being planned in conjunction with AIFF’s April 2022 festi
val\, which will take “nature” as one of its themes. In addition to th
e work of the three artists noted above\, AIFF artistic director Richard H
erskowitz will curate a program of nature-inspired videos in the Treehaven
  Gallery.\n\nMore information: https://sma.sou.edu/exhibitions/the-presenc
