Let Shakespeare's words guide you on a magnificent voyage Pericles -  a vibrant and exuberant play where laughter and love intertwine, and the spirit of adventure knows no bounds. Prepare to be swept away by the irrepressible joy that permeates every scene, and let Pericles transport you to a world where happiness reigns supreme.

Written by William Shakespeare and adapted and directed by David McCandless, SOU's Pericles is a musical with live music from The Fret Drifters, and opens on Thursday, May 16th and runs through May 26th with both evening and matinee performances on the SOU Main Stage Theatre.

Our hero, Pericles, has a buoyant spirit and indomitable courage that serve as beacons of hope in a world of tumultuous seas and treacherous shores. As Pericles sets sail on his grand odyssey, the stage becomes an ocean of wonder, alive with thrilling encounters and serendipitous meetings. The play is infused with a whimsical sense of humor with witty wordplay and clever banter that will have you giggling and grinning from ear to ear, as the characters navigate the intricate web of fate, weaving their destinies together.

But Pericles isn't just a rollicking adventure—it's a celebration of the human spirit. Along the way, you'll witness the transformative power of love, as Pericles and his beloved, Thaisa, navigate the stormy seas of separation and tragedy. Their reunion is a testament to the enduring strength of the human heart and the triumph of love over adversity.

The play's vibrant tapestry is enriched by a colorful cast of characters, each with their own quirks and charms.
