Rina Arratia - Global Gender Movements Speaker Series

The Global Gender Movements Speaker Series, hosted by the Social Justice and Equity Center and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, explores feminism and gender movements in a global context with activists from all over the world. Neghena Hamidi - 4/19

Neghena currently works as a Program Officer for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems working on programs in Southeast Asia. Past experiences include working within the UN system as a representative for human rights organizations. As a creative outlet, Neghena delivers writing and poetry workshops to youth of color centered spaces.

Lycan & Fox - 5/3

Bianca Fox Del Mar Ballara is a first generation daughter of Cuban immigrants with Taino/Arawak blood native to the Caribbean. Lycan El Lobo Coss is a two-spirit of Mexican immigrants with Aztec blood native to this land. Individually, they each hold many receipts in starting, stewarding and maintaining community land projects in the Rogue Valley area.

Joleen Brown Mataele 5/12

Joey Mataele is a leader in the LGBTQI and human rights movements in the Pacific. She co-founded the Tonga Leiti's Association in 1992, and developed the Miss Galaxy Pageant as an annual event to support it. Joey is also a talented singer and entertainer who understands the importance of oral culture and the role of song, humour and dance in Pacific cultures.

Rei Firdha Amalia - 5/19

Rei has five years experience working in the field of development, humanitarian assistance, and Gender-Based Violence. She also earned an experience while representing her organisation in the national protection and displacement cluster. Previously, she managed outreach and communication for a national online complaint- based mechanism, also for human rights issues.

Rina Arratia - 5/31

Rina is a level one ESD Global certified Instructor Self Defense and Empowerment. She is an occupational therapist at La Universidad de Playa Ancha, with the thesis, Mental Health in Adults: An Integral Gerontilogical Approach (title translated from Spanish) at the University of Santiago.
