The second part of Tony Kushner’s epic masterpiece, Angels in America. “Perestroika” means “restructuring”, an apt title for a play about people struggling to repair broken relationships and damaged lives. At its heart are two polar opposite AIDS patients: the reluctant “prophet” Prior, who sees angels, and the notorious reactionary Roy Cohn, who sees the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg. Perestroika is a spellbinding piece of Millennial theater, offsetting end-of-the-world dread with a powerful affirmation of love and hope. Directed by Jim Edmondson
