Join the SOU Sustainability Team and The Tree, Bee, Bird Committee in our celebration of Arbor Day!

This event will entail a bountiful lunch and fun volunteer service projects around and near the SOU campus. This event is free and open to the public and the SOU community alike! Advanced  registration is requested (but not required), using the form below.

Event Details

When: April 29th

• 12:30-1:20pm: Check-in and Lunch

• 1-1:20: Speakers

• 1:30 -4:30: Service projects

Where: Participants check-in and lunch will be at the Rogue River Room located on the main floor of the Stevenson Union. Volunteer projects will be located in multiple sites across campus and in nearby Glenwood Park - volunteers must first check-in at the SU to get your project assignment. Late arrivals can be arranged in advance by contacting smedstadj@sou.edu. 

The work you will be doing might include sustainable campus  beautification, construction of pollinator gardens, maintenance of the  SOU Community Garden, and- you guessed it, tree planting! This means  everyone must be dressed to work (long pants, closed toed shoes, SPF,  possibly a sun hat) and please bring a water bottle! We will provide all  other materials (gloves, tools, etc). Each volunteer will be assigned  to a working group at one of the various locations (The Farm at SOU, The  SOU Community Garden, Glenwood Park, or throughout the campus with  landscaping).
