Grieving is a Kind of Loving is a mixed media, poetry, and watercolor exploration of the connection between grief and love and the intrinsic way in which the two are linked. This series approaches grief as a necessity in the experience of loving, something to be acknowledged, felt, and seen, instead of remaining hidden. Each piece holds roots in the healing that experiencing grief as a form of love can bring when allowing oneself to feel it all.

Siena Schofield is an actor and visual artist based in Ashland, Oregon currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Art in Theatre at Southern Oregon University. For as long as she can remember, she has been creating in every form that she can whether it be painting, writing poetry, acting, or experimenting with textile arts. Anything that Siena can use to create, she will. Falling in love with mixed media and collage, her hands are always in motion, creating compositions that are whimsy and an introspection of nature, love, and connection to one’s self.
