A painted woman lay before you… Art history is not devoid of imagery showing nude reclined women. The female figure in repose: polished, perfected, sexualized. How often do these women truly look relaxed? The comfortable woman is not perfect, her pose is not graceful or soft, but unselfconscious and in her natural state. Stretching, rousing from a nap in the comfort of her home, she is unconcerned with who is watching. After all, why would anyone be watching?

Livia Eddins is a mixed media artist and illustrator living in Eugene, Oregon. She received her degree in Art from Southern Oregon University in 2021. Her work fluctuates between styles, mediums, and influences. Some days she is pulled to paint abstract color fields, and others she prefers twisting figures in sharp charcoal. Lately, Livia has been excited about exploring emotion through digital illustrations. Ultimately, as long as she is creating, she is happy.
