BOMBER JACKET! is a piece dedicated to a second-hand U.S. Navy bomber jacket passed down from Nick’s father. It was even customized by his father with various patches and buttons while being worn for many years. BOMBER JACKET! is a recreation of the coat made with collage and bookmaking methods, aiming to reflect on the bomber jacket’s importance as images and expressions of identity, as well as highlighting the stories that they tell.

Nick Simons is a student and artist based in Southern Oregon. His creative work consists of comics, digital art, collage, and paintings that depict autobiographical events through a distorted and comical perspective. Through creating art, Nick hopes to make others laugh, empathize, and keep whimsy close to the heart.
