Written specifically for virtual performance, she doesn’t remember you plays with the camera as a new proscenium, inviting the audience to create the performer’s presence in their own homes. Through live and pre-recorded video, memory and manipulation, this interactive performance is a surreal attempt to create the physical presence of the people we’ve missed, or missed the chance to meet, this past year. she doesn’t remember you is best experienced with headphones.

Nelia Miller (she/her/hers) is an interdisciplinary theater creator and performer. She has performed in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art and High Concept Laboratories with Mozawa Theater Company and with MacArthur Award-Winning Director Erica Mott, for her international multidisciplinary project, Mycelial. Nelia's work includes performing and collaborating with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, The New Colony, Walkabout Theater Company, Collaboraction, 1MPF, and at the Chicago Fringe Festival with Lost Geneva Theater Project. Nelia has also performed her solo show, Cetology, at multiple venues in Chicago including Links Hall and Chicago Physical Theater Festival. She most recently performed Cetology at Frigid Festival in NYC in March 2020, where it won the Artists’ Choice Award. She looks forward to performing it again in-person soon too.

Melissa McNamara (she/her/hers) is a contemporary performer, movement director, filmmaker and improviser based in Los Angeles, CA. Melissa holds her MFA in Contemporary Performance from the Buddhist inspired Naropa University and has trained in improvisation and sketch at the Second City Toronto, iO Chicago, and Annoyance. Her one-woman show, Leaving Normal, won awards in the Fringe Circuit, including Audience Choice at the NY Frigid Festival. Melissa teaches movement techniques for performers and has traveled internationally (3 continents) as a Lead Stott Pilates Instructor Trainer. She is an activist versed in Political Theatre and specializes in devising techniques for theater creators. Melissa is mom to Poppy Rosemary, her biggest inspiration.
